Blog Tour: Hell to Pay (Rachel Amphlett) @RachelAmphlett @emmamitchellfpr

Screen Shot 2017-11-19 at 8.12.03 AM.pngGood morning and happy Sunday!! Today, I am so thrilled to be hosting a spot on the Hell to Pay blog tour, the fourth book in the Detective Kay series, by Rachel Amphlett!

This series holds a near and dear place in my heart; not only is this series suspenseful, fast-paced and filled with non-stop action but Amphlett was the first author who ever approached me for a review on Clues and Reviews.  Cue the nostalgia.

After reading Amphlett’s previous novels in the series (Scared to Death, Will to Live, and One to Watch) I am so excited to tackle book four.  Shall we check out the synopsis?

When a road traffic accident on a dark autumn night uncovers a disturbing conspiracy, Detective Sergeant Kay Hunter’s investigation exposes a ruthless serial killer exploiting vulnerable young women.

With her enemies unmasked and her career spiralling out of control, Kay’s determination to seek vengeance for the victims brings her dangerously close to those who want to silence her.

Undeterred, she uncovers the real reason behind a plot to destroy her career and sets in motion a terrifying chain of events.

Could Kay’s need for revenge be her undoing, or will she survive to see justice served?

For my spot on the tour today, I am incredibly excited to be able to bring you an extract!

Keep reading for a glimpse into the world of Detective Kay in Hell to Pay!

One to Watch.png

Welcome to my stop for the One to Watch by Rachel Amphlett blog tour! Today, I have my review for the book and an extract from the first chapter to share!

My favourite novel in the Detective Kay series, thus far, One to Watch was different from the series previous novels. Instead of following Detective Kay as she hunts a rampant serial killer, this one honed in on one case and one dead teenager.  I loved being able to focus solely on a single murder and to be able to play the “whodunit” game with the detectives. Each character, more interesting than the last, reminded me of a game of Clue.

When a teenaged girl, Sophie, is found dead at her purity party, Detective Kay arrives at the scene. Her boyfriend is arrested, her family is questioned, and as Detective Kay digs deeper and deeper into Sophie’s life, she begins to expose a web of twisted motives, religious fanatics and family secrets.

Screen Shot 2017-04-04 at 9.46.34 PM.pngThrilled to one of the stops today on the Will to Live blog tour! Rachel Amphlett’s Scared to Death was the first novel I was ever approached to review when I started blogging, so, needless to say, I was more than thrilled to be welcomed back into the world of Detective Kay Hunter!

This novel could easily be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend reading the first in the series before diving into Will to Live. Not only is Scared to Death an awesome book, but it really helps to set the stage for the secondary plot and characters in this story.
