Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Loved My First Year Blogging

Screen Shot 2017-01-04 at 5.43.21 PMTop Ten Tuesday an original feature that was created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  Essentially, for each week the list is a new topic and the feature is designed to share lists with other bookish folks!  I love reading these posts and it’s a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

This week, the theme was an open theme looking back at any past books one might have read.  This worked out perfectly for me at Clues and Reviews, since my one year blogging anniversary is next week!! I was thrilled to see that my blog anniversary perfectly aligned with the Top Ten Tuesday post for this week and it had me taking a look back at all the books I have read and reviewed since I began my little old blog last September.  In total, I have read and reviwed 378 books (as of this morning) during my first year of blogging!

Even with all of the books I have read, I find it funny how there are some books that just stick out,. I am able to pick out (pretty easily) the top books that have kept me thinking, I am consistantly recommending or I have felt the urge to pick up and read again.

Keep reading to see my top ten picks for books that stood out for me my first year blogging!

This week, the theme was an open theme looking at book recommendations.  I decided to make a top ten list of books to head to if you are in a highly feared reading slump.   Those times where you cannot finish a book to save your life, all hope seems lost and doom is upon you.  This may be a little bit dramatic but that is legit how I feel when I find myself slumping.

The books I compiled are all books that I was able to binge read, kept me reading late into the night and help to drag me out of any reading slump.

Hey You! Read This! (The Abduction Thriller Edition)

Screen Shot 2017-01-04 at 5.43.21 PMConfession time: I am a bossy book reader.  I read books and  then force people around me to read them make subtle and kind recommendations to others.

I cannot help it, I want to share the book love. I want to chat about what I’ve read.

My “Hey, You!  Read This!” feature will hone in books I have read and would recommend in different genres and subgenres.

This week, I have decided to kick off my newest feature with one of my favourite sub genres in the thriller category: abduction thrillers. Call me crazy, but I am a sucker for an abduction thriller.  Anything that involves a kidnapping, a psycho holding several people in their basement or people rising like a phoenix from the ashes to wreak havoc on their captors have me pretty much glued to the pages.

Interested?
