Blog Tour: Deep Blue Trouble (Steph Broadribb) @OrendaBooks @crimethrillgirl

Screen Shot 2018-02-01 at 8.35.52 AMLast year, I read the action thriller Deep Down Dead by Steph Broadribb, and was instantly drawn in.   A kick- ass female protagonist, a sizzling love story, and an intricate, fast-paced plot had my eyes glued to the pages. This one lived up to the hype. So, when I found out that the second novel in the series, Deep Blue Trouble, was coming out, I was thrilled but also a little worried. A sophomore novel is a tough one to write, especially when the first would be such a tough act to follow. Well, have no fear, not only did Deep Blue Trouble keep me up late into the night but I think I may have loved this novel EVEN MORE than the first!

Lori Anderson, a single mother, and a bounty hunter managed to save her daughter, Dakota, but isn’t out of the woods yet. With Dakota’s cancer looming and JT, Dakota’s father and former mentor, behind bars on death row, Lori makes a shady deal with an FBI agent to bring in an on-the-run felon. Teaming up with another bounty hunter, Dez, tensions rise and the pressure is on.

Deep Blue Trouble opens pretty much immediately where Deep Down Dead ends off; smack dab in the middle of the action. Broadribb wastes no time hooking her reader.   I would absolutely recommend reading the first in the series before diving into book two; I think it could be a little hard to follow without having the background knowledge from the first book since they are so closely linked. I won’t say much more specifically about the plot, as to not ruin it, but it is completely filled with on the edge of your seat moments and fast paced thrillers. The chapters leave you feeling breathless and Broadribb does not give her readers a break!

This one gets roaring 5/5 stars from me; any thriller lovers will love this novel. And clear your schedule, you are not going to want to put this one down.  I cannot wait for book three!

Be sure to check out the other stops on the Deep Blue Trouble blog tour.

Discussion Series: How I Balance Books, Blogging and Life (Part 3): Reading Speed, Arc Copies and my TBR

Screen Shot 2017-01-04 at 5.43.21 PMIt is time for another instalment of my balancing books, blogging and life series. Last time around, I posted about time management.   The week before, I posted about my blogging routine.  This week, I figured I would answer some of the questions regarding reading speed, ARC copies and my personal TBR pile.

Once again, to start, I would like to be clear. People keep asking me to write this post and to share my secrets.   Truly, there really is no secret.   I do what works for me, so, that being said, some of the things I do will not work for everyone! So my top piece of advice, before I start my ramble, is to take my advice as needed and adjust it to fit your own needs!

Like last time, I decided to take direct questions and answer them Q&A style, so without further ado, let’s get into it!

June 2017 Wrap Up: #wrapup #June

Anyone who works in education or an education-related field waits for June with bated breath!   It always feels like there is not enough time and yet, time moves at a snail’s pace!  I work in an alternative school setting, so I work through the summer, but it is absolutely more relaxed and I am looking forward to the lighter weight load before I transition back into the public school system in September!

Needless to say, June was an absolutely crazy month for me personally, but, I must say, I had a seriously mediocre month for reading.

With life in the way and a full blown reading slump that plagued me for almost two weeks, I finished June with 25 titles read.

Keep reading to see what I read in June and, as always, be sure to click on the titles to bring you to the full reviews!

Discussion Series: How I Balance Books, Blogging and Life (Part 2): Dealing With Time

Screen Shot 2017-01-04 at 5.43.21 PMIt is time for another instalment of my balancing books, blogging and life series.

Last week, I posted a typical daily routine (if you missed that one, you can check it out here!).   This week, I figured I would get more in depth and start answering some of the questions I have received surrounding making time and staying focused!

To start, I would like to be clear. People keep asking me to write this post and to share my secrets.   Truly, there really is no secret.   I do what works for me, so, that being said, some of the things I do will not work for everyone! So my top piece of advice, before I start my ramble, is to play around with your routine and adjust it to how it will benefit you the best!

I decided to take direct questions and answer them Q&A style for this portion of the series, so without further ado, let’s get into it!

Discussion Series: How I Balance Books, Blogging and Life

screen-shot-2017-01-04-at-5-43-21-pm

Out of all the questions, I am asked on a regular basis, there is always one that is reoccurring.

I am constantly asked how I am able to get through so many books each week and each month.  I decided, maybe the best way to go about answering these questions will be to start a Discussion Series surrounding how I balance books, blogging and life!

So, I figured maybe the best way to start off would be to ask anyone if they have any questions for me to answer specifically regarding how I balance my reading schedule, blog and life.  Otherwise, I will just ramble on, and trust me, I can totally do that!

So, please, comment your questions and I will be sure to work them into several posts for the end of this week and the upcoming Fridays!
