When I decided to take an extended break from blogging, I stopped reviewing anything I read completely. YIKES!
So, to play some catch up, I decided I will be posting “mini reviews” of all the books I have read in the past couple of months while I ease back into blogging!
In previous posts, I posted about Me Before You (Jojo Moyes), No One Is Coming to Save Us (Stephanie Powell Watts) and All We Ever Wanted (Emily Giffin). You can check those reviews out HERE! I also discussed The Innocent Wife (Amy Llyod), The Three (Sarah Lotz), and The Kite Runner (Khaled Hosseini). You can check out those reviews HERE.
Here we go!
Need to Know
Author: Karen Cleveland
Genre: Thriller
Thoughts: I picked this one up on a total whim and I am so glad that I did!! I was completely hooked the entire time I was reading and I could not wait to see what would happen! I am a HUGE fan of the television show The Americans and this one had a similar vibe.
Totally worth the read!
Forever, Interrupted
Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid
Genre: Women’s Fiction/Chick Lit
Thoughts: I really like Taylor Jenkins Reid. I have read all of her other books and, honestly, this one was not my favourite. It was incredibly depressing and, being a newlywed, I really had a hard time reading this one. Not my favourite by her.
Skip it.
Beautiful Bastard
Author: Christina Lauren
Genre: Romance
Thoughts: I am blaming Chelsea for this one. We wanted to read a romance as a buddy read. She had seen this one on social media. We gave it a go and, let me tell you, it was really something. Not a book I would normally read AT ALL and a little much for me. However, it did make for some great laughs and a hilarious buddy read.
