Getting Personal: My Bookish Bridal Shower

screen-shot-2017-01-04-at-5-43-21-pmGood Morning and Happy Monday!!

Doing something completely random this morning and a little different for me since I rarely discuss anything personal on my blog.  However, this past weekend was my bridal shower (in case you are new to Clues and Reviews, I am getting married in November) and my mother threw me a book themed shower!  It was absolutely amazing.

However, this past weekend was my bachelorette party and bridal shower (in case you are new to Clues and Reviews, I am getting married in November) and my mom threw me a book themed shower!  It was absolutely amazing.

I figured I would share some highlights since technically it is still bookish (and, honestly, since I didn’t get any reading done the last week with all the preparation and excitement!!)

My mom made individual hand painted book marks for everyone!  There were quotes from my favourite books and songs.

All my centrepieces were books; everyone was very frustrated leading up to the shower that I had mostly thrillers and mystery titles on my shelves.  They didn’t feel as if a murder mystery would have been appropriate as a centrepiece at my shower…weird.

Guests brought a book with them to the shower to participate in a book exchange.  They brought their book, left it on this table and on the way out the door, they chose something new!

Overall, it was a beautiful day and I was glad I took the weekend break from blogging to soak it all in, but, if I am being honest, I am looking forward to spending a few nights in bed with my books.  I need some serious reading time!!

  1. What an amazing idea and so cool that your mom is so on board as well! We really don’t have parties like this here.. we usually meet at a restaurant and then just go out dancing somewhere. Or some people are made to wear funny clothes and have to do ‘tasks’ involving innocent passers-by. I’d rather go to your book swapping party :-). Is there anything bookish on the main day as well?
