It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly post to share what you recently finished reading, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan on reading this week.
It’s hosted by Kathryn at Bookdate.
Keep reading to see what I read over the past week, what I am reading now and what I plan on reading this week!
WHAT I READ LAST WEEK (MAY 15TH- MAY 21TH):
This weekend was a long weekend in Canada (Happy Victoria Day to my fellow Canadians!) and my fiance went on a trip for his bachelor party. Clearly, in his absence, I was quite busy! I read 10 books and had one DNF book this past week. I am basically a reading machine.
Most of these are upcoming releases or reviews that are coming to Clues and Reviews this week, so stay tuned!
Books I Couldn’t Finish (DNF)
I really struggled with this one. I read about 40% until I called it quits; there wasn’t anything original in this book. It felt like 100 other books I have read before, so, since I am trying really hard to only read books that bring my enjoyment, I ignored all my blogger guilt and added this one to my DNF pile.
CURRENTLY READING:
I am about 20% through The Marriage Pact and I am loving it; has a serious cult/secret society vibe and I am all about that. One Week to the Wedding is a nice, fluffy read that I am enjoying. I’m about 40% through that one. Block 46 was in my pile for last week but I wasn’t in the mood, so I started this one last night and feel like I am in a good mindset for this one now!
UP NEXT:
I am not committing to a whole lot this week since I am loving being able to read what I want. I am for sure going to be reading The Child by Fiona Barton; I have been hoarding this one and anxiously awaiting its release date. I am also going to be reading The Demonologist which is some sort of tell-all/biography about Ed and Lorraine Warren. I have been DYING to read this one and the library finally honoured my request decided to order this so I would shut up and I picked it up yesterday.
Blog News
I am almost back at 80% on Netgalley! I have been working so hard to try and clear some of my Netgalley titles so I can get back up to that coveted 80%. Now if all my books in book limbo would just hang tight so I can get there, that would be great!!
I also am almost at 150 books for this year! So that’s exciting. Only 50 books left until I hit my yearly goal and it is only May! Go me!
Have you read any of these titles? What are you reading this week? I’d love to know!
Happy reading!
And to think, I was excited to be at 95 books for the year thus far… 🙄😂 Well done my friend!

I’ve haven’t read any NetGalley books for ages as I got so fed up just reading arcs on ebook. The Marriage Pact sounds good as it’s about cults as I’ve just See You in September which was about that subject.

10 books! Wow that’s awesome. I love the look of Little White Lies and It’s Always The Husband. I’ve been on a thriller kick lately and those look like they’d fit the bill. 🙂

I have read quite few Kathy Reich books but I find that her debut was my favorite. I haven’t picked one up in a while and I’m reading them in order, how have you been liking her later books in the series?

I’m glad that other bloggers DNF ARCs occasionally. I have huge guilt issues surrounding this, but on the other hand, if I hate a book that much, my review wouldn’t be that helpful either. And it’s hours that could be spent reading something I enjoy.
