Ever wonder about the person behind the blog? I mentioned back in January (here) that I would be starting a Meet the Blogger series. This series will feature some of my favourite bloggers as we go behind the scenes and have them answer the questions!
Next up is Annie from The Misstery
Why did you decide to join the world of book blogging?
I’ve always loved reading and had used Goodreads since 2011, but the truth is that I also need to work on personal projects… Otherwise, I don’t feel fulfilled. I actually tried to blog in Spanish (my native language) for a while, but nobody was reading the books I read and I wasn’t really enjoying it. So last May I decided to create the blog in English and… voilà!
What have been your favourite and least favourite parts of being a book blogger?
My favourites? I read so many books last year and have discovered so many authors! Also, my fellow bloggers, of course, I love discussing the plots and our Netgalley addiction with them.
Least favorite? The pressure. I’m overwhelmed, as I have so many books to read! I know, it’s my fault because I can’t stop requesting. #firstworldproblems
What have been your 3 favourite books to review since you started book blogging?
I remember being super excited to review Into The Light by Aleatha Romig and Between You And Me by Lisa Hall. Two books I would’ve never discovered without the blog that have become two of my favorites. Also, when I read A Mother’s Confession, I wanted everybody to know that it was an amazing book despite the cover and I couldn’t wait to discuss my hate for some of the characters (Ivy, I’m still thinking about you).
Have you always been a reader? If not, what got you into reading?
Always!. I believe my grandma taught me how to read when I was like 3 or 4 years old and since then I was always with my nose in a book.
Now the impossible question…what are some of your favourite books?
I have so many favourite books! Let’s narrrow it down to three that I read before I started blogging. One that I absolutely loved was 11.22.63 by Stephen King: time travel, amazing characters and a love story that actually made me feel something. I cried because I didn’t want it to end. Also, Gods in Alabama by Joshilyn Jackson features everything I love in a story (southern setting, flashbacks, great mystery, unexpected ending) and I can’t stop recommending it. The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton had the most wonderful twist ever… goosebumps.
Thanks so much Annie for answering my questions!
