I figured since one of my book blogging resolutions for 2017 was to be more involved in the blogging community and to have more guest bloggers on Clues and Reviews, I would start a Meet the Blogger series!

First up is my one of my favourite bloggers, Danielle from The Blonde Likes Books!

We are going to be participating in a few buddy reads this year too! We are starting with Quicksand by Malin Persson Giolito.

Danielle reviews all sorts of titles and across all genres (including some thriller/mystery/suspense!) So, if you aren’t following her already, you should pop on over to her blog and see for yourself!

I’ve asked her to answer a few questions over here as part of my series, so without further ado, here’s Danielle!

Why did you decide to join the world of book blogging?

I’ve always had a passion for reading, and I started sharing pictures of my books on my personal instagram account. I ended up finding the #bookstagram hashtag and discovered an entire new world of fellow book lovers! From there, I learned how big the book blogging community was, and it was definitely a community I wanted to be apart of, especially since I was already posting reviews on Goodreads! I was so nervous at first, but with lots of encouragement from Sam, I decided to take the plunge, and I’m so glad I did!

What have been your favorite and least favorite parts of being a book blogger?

My favorite thing is definitely getting to know other bloggers. The community is so friendly and helpful, which has been beyond amazing. My other favorite part is discovering a whole new world of books that I may never have come across if it wasn’t for the reviews from other bloggers. I thank them for that, though my TBR list may not…ha! My least favorite part would have to be saying no to review requests. I wish I could read and review everything that’s offered to me, but there just isn’t enough time in the world unfortunately, and on top of that, not every book will be up my alley…but that doesn’t stop me from feeling bad! I never want reading to feel like a chore.

What have been your 3 favorite books to review since you started book blogging?

There have been some amazing books that have been published in the last few months that I’ve been able to review, so this is a fun question! My top 3 would have to be The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle, Witness by Caroline Mitchell, and While You Were Sleeping by Kathryn Croft. All three are thrillers that I thought were excellent! If you haven’t added them to your TBR list yet, go do it now!

Have you always been a reader? If not, what got you into reading?

I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember! As a baby/young child, my mom read to me before bed each night, and my love for books continued when I learned to read on my own. I’m thankful she did that, because it drove my passion for reading starting from a very young age.

Now the impossible question…what are some of your favourite books?

This one is always so hard because it can change, depending on the day! Ha! Okay, books that are always my favorites are The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes, and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Technically that makes 8 favorites, but it’s okay. Some favorites of the moment are A Court of Thorns and Roses and it’s sequel A Court of Mist and Fury, The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, and The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle.

Stay turned for more of my Meet the Blogger series and for the buddy read Danielle and I will be participating in!
